Adair and Kopp commissioned the metal fabricator who did the railings to create the monkey-bar rungs that line the hallway, powder-coated in seafoam green. Rings can attach to the monkey bars to give the boys a different type of challenge.
"The materials and finishes used in the main bath really transformed it from being solely utilitarian into a zen retreat," she says.
A terracotta vanity expands across the full length of the bathroom.
“The property is protected, yet wild,” De Jong says of TOURISTS. “It was a nice change from the wide open beaches of Maine, to come to a more insular, forestscape and allow the kids to run their hearts out within the boundaries of the property.”
