In an effort to keep costs within budget without sacrificing looks, the fully gutted and renovated kitchen features IKEA cabinetry framework with shaker-style fronts by Semihandmade. The cabinets were painted Farrow & Ball Pigeon.

Around the perimeter of the kitchen, Reform Basis cabinets complement richly textured white oak countertops. Professional-grade DCS appliances offer modern convenience.

At Vietnam’s forested resort Ta Nung Homestay, Ho Chi Minh City–based Mỹ An Architects designed geometric pine-clad cabins as a collaborative live-work space for resort employees. Two cabins, totaling 5,400 square feet, are connected by an expansive shared timber deck that is elevated on stilts, hovering above the forest floor.

The Deans’ new kitchen is long and narrow, punctuated by the small windows that dot the façade and one large light-giving window at the end.

SVK Interior Design paired rich elm accents with matte-white laminate cabinets, gray-veined Caesarstone countertops, and show-stopping white Heath tile with dark grout.

Amy worked with Josh Tomlinson of Tomlinson Woodworks to craft the island, which is as much of a showpiece as it is for storage. He also did the cabinetry.

After a top-down renovation, the revamped midcentury at 4311 Noeline Avenue blends together a glass, wood, and stone facade. A gently sloping roof line defines much of the interior.

Cohen ordered the playhouse cube online from Amazon and customized it by painting the interiors with vines and velcro "critter" stickers. The reading nook sits at the top of the stairs leading to the roof deck. "In the winter, all the plants go on top of it and then we move everything outside in the summer. It really is a magical green space for my kids to be cozy and read in the winter," shares Cohen.

The spacious master bedroom has a sunny southern exposure. The solid maple four-poster canopy bed is a custom design from Makawe Interiors that was built by Wadaly Design. The headboard is upholstered with outdoor fabric from Holly Hunt.
