Fall Design Trend: Comfortable Kitchens

Kitchens are the heart of the home and no one likes a cold barren heart or kitchen—especially as the air gets chilly and thoughts of family holidays approach. Our third Fall design trend (see Warm Woods and Gold, Brass, & Copper Accents) is all about comfortable kitchens. Here, we click through some kitchen inspirations that are cozy yet modern. Now rented out as an office/retail space, the downstairs contains a kitchen, which is fitted with Ikea lamps and steel shelving by Azevedo. For the flooring she glued down fiber-cement HardiePanel siding more commonly used for building walls, both because of its resemblance to concrete and its price of one dollar per square foot.
