The mudroom, outfitted in custom oak millwork, connects the garage to the entry hall.

For the couple’s shared office, which is windowless, the team installed backlit panels to give the illusion of daylight entering the room.

Maple veneer ApplePly tops this bench in the new mudroom, which provides boot and shoe storage/drainage, while other cabinets conceal a variety of storage spaces.

“We wanted to have fun with it,” says Ren of the entry installation. A teal velvet curtain acts as the closet door.

The extension has a broken-plan layout, with clear distinct zones for dining, cooking and reading/playing.

Inside, Kyu Sung’s wife, Jung-Ja Kim, a concert pianist and professor at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, stands at the Corian-topped kitchen island.

The deep green tone of the front facade and in the entrance courtyard transitions to blue and green cement tile on the interior walls. The palette references hues found in nature, creating a sense of calm.

Glossy deep-green tile covers one of the walls in the entrance courtyard. The staircase that accesses the two upper levels is crafted with bright blueish-green terrazzo.

The one bedroom-one bath guesthouse has a kitchenette, and also utilizes the same materials as the main house: walnut cabinets, cedar walls, and the tongue and groove ceiling treatment.

Tiffany's friend Pedro Motta built the entry bench, which was topped with pads from Ikea.

You may think that a library has to be its own room, but books can be stored and read just about anywhere. Lining a hallway with books turns it into a library that you’ll walk through, and be inspired by, every day. Cabinets below provide extra storage and even a place to sit and read.

Marble tile inlaid with brass as well as custom floating walnut cabinetry give the master bath both elegance and kinetics.
