A custom vanity and medicine cabinets lines the wall, and a pocket door leads to the walk-in closet.
Cover Architecture and EEK Studio designed the custom vanity, which was fabricated by Hardwood Habitat. The wood door conceals the toilet room, while a pocket door separates the bathroom from the bedroom. The terrazzo floor tile is from Cle Tile.
The original plans showed cabinetry placement along the pony wall, and Cover Architecture and EEK Studio gave it unique detailing.
The design team added a skylight to the shower room, which has a ribbed glass partition and wall tile from Solistone.
One of the couple’s favorite new details is the built-in, L-shaped bookcase in the den.
The architects at Side Angle Side added five pairs of skylights during the renovation: two pairs in the kitchen and three in the living room.
Side Angle Side led the renovation of this 2,350-square-foot home for Steph Steele, the owner of Austin’s Tiny Grocer stores, and her wife, Margaret Tucker, who works as a family law attorney.
The new foyer is more open and bright, the removed closet and stairway wall allowing the light to fill the rest of the space. The hanging light is by Copenhagen's &Tradition.
After renovation, Allison enjoys more of a true great room, where people in the living area, kitchen and dining space can all connect.
A Nash Martinez light fixture hangs over a whitewashed ash dining table by Robert Rahm of Marrow, with a Sandra Dal Poggetto artwork between the cabinets.
The renovated basement includes understair cabinetry designed by Allison and built/installed by Terrien Designs. The CB2 table is paired with Ton Salt chairs. The wall print is by David Shrigley.
The renovated kitchen features limestone countertops, vertically oriented white Bedrosians Makoto porcelain tile, with custom ash cabinetry, maple floors, and Muuto barstools.

The wood-framed folding glass doors are from Centor. The battens on the board-and-batten siding are wider than usual for a more modern appearance. The exterior sconces are Dioscuri sconces from Artemide.
The landscaping was added between the construction of the main house and the Casita.

The kitchen flooring is dark green, seconds tile from local tile maker Pratt & Larson—purportedly rejects from the Starbucks coffee chain. The tan-colored grout is "copacetic" with the wood floors.
