The front facade of the townhouse was restored to its original appearance. The new front door has been painted the same color as the walls in the master bedroom and the cabinetry in the kitchen.
The entrance hallway is visible from the living room.
The garden is by landscape designer Tom Massey. The paving is similar to the bricks used in the extension.
The unique, handcrafted fireplace was installed where the original had long since been removed.
The ground floor features Douglas fir flooring. The living room at the front of the house is separated from the entrance hallway by a black steel-framed glazed partition.

The home sits in a row of Victorian townhouses in a conservation area. "We had to be sensitive at the front, but we could be a bit more playful at the back," says the architect.
The extension connects to the patio via black steel-framed glass doors that can be opened in warm weather.

The bathroom features white tiles and the same pendant lighting as is used in the living room.

The shower partition echoes the black steel frames used throughout the renovation; the terrazzo floor tiles mirror the pattern of the fireplace; and the lighting is by the same designer as that used in the living spaces.
The entrance hallway features tiles from the Puzzle collection by Barber Osgerby for Mutina. The original staircase has been over-clad with Douglas fir timber that matches the timber used in the new flooring on the ground floor.
Olive is a calming shade of green that works well in bedrooms.
