Bathrooms, like the rest of the rooms in the sprawling structure, are walled in concrete. The fixtures are from Porcelanosa.

The throw pillows are from Casa Textil Arte Zapoteco. The Bertoia stools are from Knoll. The clay vases on the built-in shelving are by Perla Valtierra, and the sculptures from Artefakto.

The house is located in Jinseki, in an area with picturesque views.

A large open skylight floods the heart of the home with natural light, even in winter months, and creates an interesting play between interior and exterior space in the main living area.

The bespoke concrete deck chairs were also designed by architect Pinard Architecture. They not only match the aesthetic of the building, but will withstand the often harsh coastal conditions, developing the same kind of patina as the home itself. The rope balustrade is specifically designed to accommodate the wet towels and swimming costumes so prevalent at holiday homes.

The cedar-clad interior provides protection from the sun and orients views towards the ocean.

The back patio and fire-pit area are central entertaining spaces. When the weather is nice, homeowner Joan and Ken wheel their dining room table outside for parties and dinners with friends. The fire pit was built using a steel cut-off from a natural gas tank.
