The creative director at Shinola, another Detroit-based operation, says, "Our long-term goal is to have everything made here. The current challenge is that since we can't [produce everything domestically], what can we make?" Apparently bicycles. Shinola bikes' frames are made in Wisconsin, the wheels in California, the spokes in Colorado, and the tubing in Mississippi.
