The kitchen features a Zia tile backsplash, as well as cabinetry and fluted millwork (in Benjamin Moore’s Burgundy) that were designed by Opa Architecture and fabricated in-house by De Lux Construction.

While Charly has loved Italian art and culture for his whole life, he visited Italy for the first time around three years ago.

Charly started by painting a single red wall. Then he added a second, and a third, until the entire living room was crisp and crimson.

Charly opted for a sturdy umbrella mounted on a stand from Business & Pleasure Co. to keep his balcony dry from Berlin’s frequent rain showers.

“As you can see, I really like rugs,” Charly says, gesturing to the one from HK Living draped across the chair.

The red paint Charly chose for his flat lends warmth and coziness to the upper story—even on the grayest days.

Dabito says he had to get creative to maximize the home’s small plot of land. The entire bottom floor is dedicated to entertaining, with two bedrooms upstairs.

"Outside, we tucked the condensers away on black metal stands and surrounded them with a lovely gate, brickwork, tile, and lush plants to blend them seamlessly into the landscaping,” says Dabito. The home’s exterior features Butterfield by Sherwin-Williams, with the shutters adding a playful contrast in Stone Fruit, also by Sherwin Williams.

The smart thermostat by Trane makes controlling the temperature from anywhere with a smartphone a breeze. The Perilla Table Lamp by Dabito for Mitzi is paired with a vintage nightstand.
