SHED embraced the angled corners with custom cabinetry. According to Hale, the inspiration images that the couple chose were “less American Midwest farmhouse, and more contemporary Scandinavian farmhouse,” which inspired the design team to consult Scandinavian farm layouts for the master plan.

Vintage furniture in the primary bedroom mirrors the bespoke pieces in the communal living space, with a midcentury A Younger wardrobe and Archie Shine drawers sitting alongside an Arts and Crafts Heal’s bed.

“We decided to put our money into the construction and to source our interior from wherever we found things we liked,” says Ayla.

Ogawa and Fisher designed a new walk-in closet for the primary bedroom.

Marbrisa sits on the yellow sofa when wants to curl up with a book for a few quiet moments.

Natural light and landscape views come most notably through the floor-to-ceiling windows in Kelli’s bedroom. However, the open layout means that they flood the entire space with light and landscape views.

In the guest room, a vintage French country wooden hutch in the closet and a vintage rustic wooden table were both sourced from the Rose Bowl Flea. The closet drapes are from Etsy.
