Clinton Hill Italianate

A Clinton Hill Italianate row house dating back to the 1860’s had seen countless ad-hoc renovations over the years which left it in need of a total overhaul. A massive renovation in the 1920/1930s had removed the original staircase and replaced it with a grand central stair and foyer. The stoop was removed at some point and a poorly utilized extension added to the back. Many original details remained but much of the home was in a state of neglect.

The design savvy homeowners wanted a fresh start while keeping the historic details that they fell in love with intact. Urban Pioneering Architecture were the perfect partners to realize their vision and see the project to completion. With careful planning, budgeting and an eye for reuse Urban Pioneering created a separate garden level apartment and a triplex with full guest suite that is modern, stylish, and effortlessly blends modern design with historic bones.
