"We did our best to tuck the buildings into the site—the goal was to get up high on a perch. It was a matter of setting that elevation and working back down with the topography," says architectural designer Riley Pratt.
“We listened carefully to the house, and tried to do what it needed,” Carisa says.

The cabins that Koto designed for Trees at Tughall, a resort on the Northumbrian Coast of England, are outfitted with vertical Welsh spruce siding that helps the structures look as if they're part of the natural surround.
