The new house has five exits, including the huge sliding door from the living room to the open space where the hot tub waits. Even the bathroom has a door to the outside.

Tiles from Equipe Ceramicas (Splendours Black) line the bathroom wall.

The cottage features a wraparound deck on three sides. A door leads from the kitchen to the deck, allowing easy access to the deck to enjoy a morning coffee.

The denim-colored sofa is from West Elm (a nod to the jean shorts featured in Tyler's "Sunday in the Park" poster), while the pumpkin-hued armchairs were a splurge at Soho Home.

Veneer plywood was used in both interior and exterior applications, providing a clean yet warm aesthetic.

A gas fireplace with built-in storage separates the sleeping area from the central living room, which connects to the deck via sliding glass doors. Polished concrete floors span the open layout.

An oculus-like central skylight hangs overtop the great room.

Scalar Architecture placed the cabin on conrete piers to minimize its ecological impact on the surrounding landscape.

The concrete foundation was poured on top of a rock outcropping, so that the house would feel like part of the natural features of the site.

The nearly 2,500-square-foot house is built primarily from locally sourced Douglas fir.

The door opens directly into the main living space, where a Room & Board sofa joins a chair and ottoman from West Elm. The wood-burning stove is from Morsø.

Redwood architectural walls come from the outside into the main living areas of the house, where you’ll find white oak flooring and custom cabinets.

Their carpenter Proedl built a lot of the storage and furniture in the apartment, including these concealed cubbies beneath the stairs—with room for a dry bar, of course.
