Kitchen cabinetry is crafted from regional Douglas Fir, offering a welcoming balance of clean lines and textural warmth.

The living spaces are orientated to the north, while the bedrooms have been placed in the south of the home.

The patterned use of handmade Beldi tiles is used to delineate the space. The vintage olive-green leather sofa is from Mario Bellini Camaleonda.

Large openings and minimal interiors make the tropical garden and pool area a focal point. The home offers outdoor living at its finest.

An entire wall opens up to the landscape for streamlined indoor/outdoor living.

The interior of the social side of the home was made to feel like a communal pavilion, with all of the activities grouped in one fluid space and clerestory windows invoking an open-air aspect.

The living room, kitchen, and dining room flow together in the open floor plan. Previously, the kitchen featured darker wooden cabinets in a more traditional style.

The vintage hanging fireplace is original to the home.

The built-in sofa anchors the living room and faces the existing fireplace. The Leather Oval Chair with a red steel base sits off to the side, and the coffee table was fashioned by attaching vintage steel legs to another tile sample board.

The coffee table can fold out and double as a dining table. The bathroom also has a folding door to save space.

Taking cues from their style-conscious clients, Jessica Helgerson Interior Design transformed an Amagansett home into a light-filled, Scandinavian-inspired getaway.

"We clad the bathroom doors with the lath as well, adding a nearly invisible aluminum pull," explains Darci. "The adjacent bookshelf was the first project that Dale and I worked on together—and that was 18 years ago."

The team removed the dropped ceiling and attic above to expose the tongue-and-groove paneling and the supports at the roof. A Swan Chair by Fritz Hansen sits with the client’s sofa and USM media cabinet.
