You may remember Jamie Chung from her days starting out in The Real World, or recognize her from any one of the movies she’s been in including Sorority Row, Sucker Punch, and The Hangover Part II. To launch her career, she went from taking acting classes after college to being an extra on the set of Entourage and Rush Hour 3. “From there I starting booking one liners, to being a weekly hire, to becoming a series regular,” says Chung. “It was all hard work the traditional way.”

Needless to say, Chung, who is now preparing for an action movie in Dubai, is a jet-setter, going where the job takes her. Her most recent role led her to Atlanta, Georgia, where she’s filming the second season of the Fox series, The Gifted. It’s also where she and her husband, Bryan Greenberg, decided to purchase a new home in a historic cotton factory in the midtown district.

The two-bed, two-bath condo has been Chung’s home for just under a year (her third—she also has one in the hills and is currently renovating another in Fort Greene, Brooklyn). She was drawn to the 21-foot ceilings and exposed brick—and the fact that it was move-in ready, as the previous owner was an architect. With large, industrial picture windows, a neutral palette with concrete floors, and a spiral staircase, it was the perfect canvas for her to lay out her “polished, California boho-chic” dreams.

Chung worked with Decorist to design a space for gathering with friends and throwing parties. The open living space was transformed into an entertainer’s delight, with strategically placed seating separating the dining and living areas. Using the service allowed her to quickly piece together a home without having to take away from her busy schedule. She selected designer Jessica McCarthy, uploaded photos of her space with measurements, described her vision, and voila—she received a 3D mockup of the space with new furniture from partner Bed Bath & Beyond and links to purchase.

“I honestly only picked out the dining room table and sent over a photo of a velvet chair, and Jessica did the rest!” For the final touch, Chung selected framed prints from Artfully Walls to adorn the space, and her new house became a home.

Any standout parts of the house that are particularly special to you?

Jamie Chung: The dining room table and chairs from Bed Bath & Beyond. The goal of the apartment was to entertain and throw dinner parties and some special memories have already been made in that space!

How does your decor inspire you in life and work?

Having a clean and comfortable space allows me to stay creative. I shoot a lot in my apartment for my blog and for my social. I've done an impromptu table read at my home. Having a safe and comfortable home affects me in every way!

As someone that spends hours on set, what’s the one thing that you had to have in your sanctuary?

A comfortable lounge chair! The green chair is where I like to WINE down after a long day on set. It's my favorite seat in the house.

It looks like you’re a lover of art. Tell us about it.

Art makes me happy! It adds color and character to any space. These particular pieces were picked out by my Decorist designer Jessica, from Artfully Walls.

What was on your checklist when designing your home? What were your must-haves, in terms of furniture and accessories?

I wanted an oval dining room table to maximize seating without sacrificing space. I also wanted sectional rugs and artwork.

What items for the home would you say are most important to invest in?

A dining room set, a comfy lounge chair, and beautiful rugs!
