In this corner unit, large windows fill the space with natural light. A custom wood platform is a modern solution that minimizes the need for furnishings.

Extending from end to end, the wood components tie it all together.

This peaceful, rustic bedroom makes use of a Murphy bed by Resource Furniture with a couch in a three- or two-seat version and integrates with closet and shelving systems.

The light-pink color is carried throughout the bedroom's textiles, light fixtures, and accessories.

The master bedroom overlooks panoramic views of the lake.

Complete with not one, but two Juliette balconies, the Soleil room opens to the smells and sights of the garden below, looking out onto the Pacific Ocean.

The “private” building has three bedrooms, with the emphasis given to the positioning of the master suite.

Original floors were restored, windows were painted, and a coat of white paint enlivens the room.

This is the original master bedroom. The teak barn door is similar to the one in the new master bedroom.

The ceiling is exposed corrugated metal salvaged from the old house’s pitched roof and reused as decking for the concrete slab overhead. The space also features a Jessie Velvet armchair from Altea Design, a Dune pouf by Kare Design, and a Quinn wool rug from Crate & Barrel. Outside, a hammock beckons.

The master bedroom provides peaceful views of the Long Island Sound and includes a king bed, designed by Rottet herself, outfitted with Restoration Hardware linen and a funky skylight—which accommodates a tropical tree.

The master bedroom has 10-foot ceilings and clerestory windows.

In keeping with the minimal-yet-whimsical aesthetic, a Floyd platform bed takes center stage with a Coyuchi percale duvet and sheets in blush and ginger. Flanking either side are EQ3 Marcel Nightstands from AllModern.

To create the illusion of space, Chen added mirrored cabinetry and skirting in the living room.

The custom overhead light is a pine box covered in linen, which diffuses the LEDs inside. A gray linen curtain conceals his tools.
