A new transom window and sliding glass doors to the back patio add plenty of sunlight to the bedroom.

Instead of a table lamp, the homeowners installed pendant lights that flank the bed: the Liuku Drop Mini.

The parents’ bedroom, added during the renovation, is fitted with an Eva timber bed, Step Step stool, Aatos chair, and Linus lounge chair, the parents’ bedroom is functional and deliberately pared-back.

The bed frame is custom, designed by Jin Lee Studio.

Wall height cabinetry maximizes storage in the couple’s bedroom.

Connection with the outside was an important part of the brief. "We talked a lot about designing moments where you’d really engage with those views—a window seat where you could sit and read while looking toward the city, or a study that feels connected to the terrace even when it’s not warm enough to be outside,

A built-in desk and shelving unit crafted in oak make the study a serene place for Dan to work from home. “The joinery is what links the geometry of the mansard and the curved walls,” says architect Oliver Cooke. “It makes the space feel sculpted rather than fitted in.”

The stairs from the first floor lead directly into the new study, which opens out to a generous roof terrace.

The bedroom has a bedframe from CB2.

On the ground level, Johnson created a home office and a workshop space. Shelves in the office are IKEA, and the plywood desk and mahogany chair were made by Johnson.

In Johnson's daughter's room, he used birch plywood for the built-in wardrobe and desk. The chair is maple and steel and was designed and fabricated by Johnson.

For his son's room, Johnson used walnut plywood for the built-in desk. He also used walnut for the chair.

In the primary bedroom, a small built-in desk overlooks the exterior stair. Johnson crafted the desk from birch plywood and the chair from maple. The lamp is by Greta Grossman and the chair below is from Cherner.

This living space on the second floor includes Knoll chairs and ottomans, a collection of blown glass, artwork from Linda Lowery, and an Armadillo rug. "I sit and read in the Womb chairs a lot, while our dog Penny snuggles up next to me," Jeffrey says.

A row of fake cakes from Etsy are displayed in the front window, a nod to the building's supposed origins as a bakery.
