When not in use as the headboard, the large redwood slab folds down to become a desk.

The architects designed the bed, which has a gray-stained oak frame that sits on wheels and features storage underneath. Curtains by Angelique Interiors and a custom rug by Edwards Fields pair well with the room’s sheetrock walls.

This was my room, Unit 2. It's the only one with the bed pushed up against the window, set on a unique cantilevered bed frame created by Trowbridge, a furniture designer. It took a little while to get used to the lack of curtains; the designers opted to keep the glazed walls open, to maximize guests' experience of Lautner's legendary approach to daylight. The surrounding walls offer plenty of privacy from prying eyes, though, and a provided sleep mask blocks out morning rays.

The pair painted the upstairs master bedroom white, and added a G55 sling chair and leather baskets from their recent design collections. The carpet is from a souk in Casablanca, and the bedcover is from Zara Home. Atop the vintage cup-board is an artwork by Vereecke’s father. Verheyden incorporated all-new woodwork of his design into the room.

The couple designed the master bedroom, choosing a new red carpet inspired by the original and a Half Moon pendant by Allied Maker.

A pair of windows shed a bit of light in the bedroom, which boasts a lofted bed and workspace with a sink and closet beneath. The sink is by Lacava and the tap is from Fluid Faucet's Wisdom line.

Lastly, a master bedroom opens up to the landscape around it and can sleep an extra two guests on day beds.

The original turret provides ample sunlight during the day, while a wall-mounted Tolomeo lamp by Artemide is used at night.

Three plywood veneer sliding doors separate the bedroom from the hallway.
