The renovation expanded the primary bedroom; now it’s one of Sheila’s favorite spots in the house where, thanks to a new picture window, she can work from bed while overlooking the beautiful view.

The white oak material palette continues in the bedroom, and the arch motif extends to curved edges on the shelves and a nightstand, to fit next to a door.

In the master bedroom, a translucent sealant was applied to the painted ceiling and exposed beam to retain their original textures but create a homogeneous appearance.

Lekien designed integrated storage for the primary bedroom.

A stripe of tomato-colored paint (mixed from two shades of red) sets the energizing mood that Malak envisioned for the bedroom, which is made up of mostly Ikea and secondhand furniture. A wall of cabinetry to the right clears up the rest of the space for unobstructed movement.
