HGAA ensured that all the rooms of the home have a direct view of nature. The windows in the bedroom of the Ninh Binh House provide light and ventilation, while the outside greenery helps create the privacy needed for the interior space.

The roof of the wooden “box” portion of GriD's Spa Creek House contains the lofty master bedroom. The covered balcony enjoys commanding views across the creek to the historic district of Annapolis, Maryland.

Samuel specified a custom velvet built-in headboard, then had it adorned with simple floating bedside shelves. Cedar & Moss lighting, the Safari Bench from Georgia-based Katy Skelton, and a custom weaving by Sally England finishes the cozy space.

Porcelain fishbone tiles continue throughout the home, including in the bedrooms. The updated master bedroom features new built-in wall storage and a bed frame designed by architect Dana Oberzon.

The master bedroom contains a custom-made platform bed with a simple white oak headboard. While sitting in bed, the homeowner can look directly out to the balcony and the valley beyond.

The master suite contains the only nonvintage furnishing: a BoConcept bed.

The master bedroom, painted in Whisper by Comex, sports a bed that Farca custom-designed as part of his EF Collection.

“Everything in the bedroom is built in, including the bed,” adds Keith, who commissioned Hub Woodworks to mill this key feature. Andrew Neyer Crane lights flank the bed, an Akari pendant by Isamu Noguchi hangs overhead, and a Womb chair by Eero Saarinen for Knoll, covered in Cassia fabric from Designers Guild, sits in the corner.

“This way you have a sequence,” Lynch explains. “The stair is a circulator, and after you take off your coat, you can go downstairs to the powder room or up to the living floor.” On the other side of the millwork, he devised built-in storage and niches for display, as shown in the master bedroom, located on the second floor.

Deam also designed all of the built-in furniture, including this bedside console that features an Arne Jacobsen sconce.

The master bedroom interior is finished with cherry wood.

In the Seabreeze Room, marble floors and floating shelves repeat the use of this local material. Custom Flos lighting design allows the space to softly glow, while a private balcony looks out to the rest of the coastal property.
