Beaulieu added a few dormers to gain height upstairs, as seen in the shower here, although they’re not visible from the street.

The living room is dubbed the "Ladies Who Lunch" room. Benjamin Moore’s Chippendale Rosetone covers the walls, in rich contrast to the preserved wood ceiling, and a medley of vintage furnishings fills out the space. The rug is from IKEA and the chandelier is Schoolhouse Electric.

In the revitalized hallway, an IC Light S by Michael Anastassiades for Flos hangs over the front door, painted Benjamin Moore Yellow Highlighter.

In a sophisticated main bathroom in Seattle, sea-green concrete floor tiles with a geometric pattern provide a lawn of color against wood walls and white tile. The paper lanterns are also a clear homage to the building’s Japanese inspirations.

The soaker tub gives the bathroom a luxurious, spa-like feeling. A matte-black curtain railing complements the wall’s terrazzo finish, which is a nod to the family restaurant.
