The upstairs master bathroom is teeming with light thanks to its skylight and windows, and looks more luxurious than it is thanks to marble-like ceramic tile and walnut-faced plywood cabinets.

La Base also designed the bathroom’s modular hangers.

A pocket door separates the full bathroom from this powder room, which has a mounted teal sink punctuated by floor-to-ceiling tile work.

The primary bathroom features a Badeloft tub and Brizo fixtures. “It’s nice to let the desert breezes blow through the house,” says Heather, “especially after a summer monsoon, when the smell of creosote blankets the desert.”

The large shower in the primary bathroom also has space for a tub, and if the window is open, the stream can be heard.

Recessed lighting creates a warm glow in the bathroom, complete with a dramatic cast concrete sink and terrazzo tile-work.

The cottage's former bedroom is now the bathroom, which even manages to squeeze in a tub! A sky light with a sensor that responds to internal moisture levels floods the space with natural light, as well as the two high windows that feed in light from the internal courtyard.

The tiny window, one of only two smaller windows in the home, reveals the thick walls, while a hidden skylight allows plenty of natural light onto the earthy custom-made vanity.

The bathrooms include a walk-in shower, washer, and dryer.

The upper portion of the walls were finished in waterproof tadelakt, which meets the marble slabs in a pleasing datum line carried around the entire room.

The tub backdrop is composed of bamboo-cut textured marble tile. “When the lights are on, it casts a really beautiful waterfall effect of light across the texture,” says Watts.

The new bathroom is in the former bedroom, and it’s primarily used by the bedroom occupants.

A full bathroom features all-over stone and a walk-in shower.
