Tres bathroom accesories.

The glass dividers in the bathroom are hand-crafted by Ukrainian craftsmen.

Mullioned doors separate the vanity from the indoor shower. La Cantina Sea Foam Green doors (not pictured) connect the indoor shower to an outdoor shower.

Fire Clay Hexite tile covers the bathroom walls. The countertop is Pental Quartz.

In the shower, handmade Bubble Hex tile from the Futura collection at the Portland–based company Clayhaus Tile makes a stunning statement.

Think about proportion and size. For instance, are you swapping out your old one because it’s too small? Are you planning to install a new vanity in a tiny powder room and need to find something small enough that would fit?

When redesigning “Madmen” actor Vincent Kartheiser’s Hollywood cabin, architect Funn Roberts installed custom shoji-style screens of to conceal the closet and provide privacy for the adjacent shower and soaking tub.

Constructed with sink basins that sit on top of the vanity counter, vessel sinks are a sophisticated and sculptural looking option. Many come with half sphere or half oval shaped basins in a variety of materials. Though vessel sinks can be more costly to install, the color and material contrast between basin and counter – as seen in this solid brass bowl sink on top of a custom Corian base – can certainly add an extra layer of style to the bathroom.
