This bathroom belongs to a hillside home in Oakland, California, that Method Homes built in collaboration with CleverHomes x tobylongdesign.

“We wanted it to feel like our sanctuary,” says the owner of the new primary bathroom.

After: The new bathroom is straight out of Laura's Pinterest dreams, with stacked white ceramic tile (from Zia) and matte black fixtures (from AF Supply). She plans to add more plants to make the space even more serene.

Hanna’s sleeping suite includes a bathtub by Badeloft. Windows, cut into walls covered with matte white porcelain penny tiles with blue grout, provide views. Only the home’s concrete raft “basement” is windowless; it contains a Tesla battery, the water pump, and storage closets.

In the primary bathroom, custom oak cabinetry by Caron Custom Homes floats above light gray porcelain floor tiles from Ariostea. The counter is Caesarstone quartz, and the fixtures are by Grohe.

The removal of two partition walls at the master bedroom en suite exposes the full band of windows, which in turn illuminates the interior well.

In the master bathroom, a taupe-coloured Dafne bathtub from Cielo creates a cohesive composition with the neutral colour palette.

Sage green tile and a custom vanity reflect the new design details elsewhere in the house.

An oversized soaking tub awaits in the spacious master bath.

In one of the home's bathrooms, a sink from Lindsey Wherrett Ceramics gracefully sits under a circular mirror from Clearlight Designs. The Ilde Wood S pendant is by David Abad.

The master bath was the largest renovation project of the home. "We ended up extending the bathroom, removing the dressing area and the small original bathroom, and gutted the whole thing," she says. "This created a larger master bath with a free-standing tub and double showers." Then, they added open glass panels and had a custom concrete sink made by Trueform Concrete. On the floor lies custom-cut, chevron -atterned, gray tile and 2' by 16' glossy subway tiles that are stacked horizontally.
