The deck, fashioned from ipe, was built around one of the property’s many granite outcroppings. An earthen roof was planted with the same varieties of sedum that were added to the front of the cottage.

Bathed in Light To help disperse light in the newly opened-up interior, the designers clad the roof over the guest bathroom with Danpalon, a translucent polycarbonate that brings in lots of softened natural light. The walls and door are frosted glass. Says Kyprianou: “You can’t see much through the glass—just silhouettes—so our guests don’t mind!” danpalon.com.au Hung Up With the budget running out toward the end of the project, Kyprianou wanted to avoid forking out for a custom-designed walk-in closet in the master bedroom. A Wyndham Collection freestanding tub anchors the master bath. Low-flow fixtures are installed throughout.

Master bathroom

All three bedroom suites come with a soaking tub overlooking ocean views.

A large skylight looms above a Duravit tub and a Runtal Radia towel warmer in the en suite bathroom.

The powder room is wrapped in Josef Frank wallpaper.

The tile looks vintage, but was selected and installed as part of the renovation. On the vanity: Kristall Tumbler in Blush by Decor Walther from the Oliver Thom Store.

Dal Tile “Keystones” in Arctic White and Emerald cover the guest bathroom.

The bathroom was enlivened with a wall of hexagonal blue Pratt & Larson tile.

The bathroom's shower is wheelchair accessible, if needed.

In the kids bathroom, Ceramica Vogue tile in multiple colors brings a youthful quality. Countertops are by Concrete Collaborative.

Tile by Zia Tile runs along a wall of the upstairs bathroom. The cabinets are by Cabinets quick, and the floor tile is by Concrete Collaborative.

The design team added a skylight to the shower room, which has a ribbed glass partition and wall tile from Solistone.
