This added bathroom, just off the pool deck, was designed to be resilient to water, with Heath Ceramic tiles cladding both the walls and floors. The California Faucet fixtures come directly out of the wall, above a Duravit sink, next to a Pottery Barn Windsor mirror and Quiet Town curtains.

The couple raised the ceiling height in the main room of the bathroom, then lowered it in the shower to create a "jewel box

At the white oak vanity, Marlatt integrated a light with the mirror, and the entire installation moves along sliding barn door hardware. “That was something I really wanted to try,” says Marlatt. “It’s not super functional, just fun.”

The main bathroom walls and shower are clad in tile, and illuminated with a clerestory window.

The bathroom features a Duravit sink that was incorrectly ordered for a job by the contractor and then donated to Hale. The stools are from Ikea, the tub was salvaged, and the tiles were surplus from another project.

La Base also designed the bathroom’s modular hangers.

Like the other corner rooms, the bathroom has a large window and a door to the outside.

The expanded bathroom received a new sink, toilet, flooring, and washer/dryer. The couple was able to keep the existing tub.

A custom blue Durat countertop and birch-plywood vanity in the bathroom match the renovation’s mate-rial palette, while Daltile wall subway tiles add an unexpected flair.
