Basement Space?

A window in one of the bedrooms frames a view of the garden. The wallpaper is from Superflower, a company run by the couple. It uses Andrew’s images of flowers, which Niki says have a beauty in their “formal and objective” quality, adding depth to traditional patterns.

Inside, the transition between old and new is smooth, but not altogether seamless. HOP extended the concrete floor into the addition, but left a clear line to mark where the old floor ends and the new one begins.

One of the first things the couple does on a summer morning is slide open the floor-to-ceiling glass doors to let the fresh air and the forest into the house.

Each child has their own sleeping nook in the “Sibling Lair.”
