All walls, ceiling and floor are lined in plywood. The desk and shelving are mostly build from offcuts from the floor.

Almo Troup repurposed nearly all of the materials from a tumbledown shack to create a dreamy, minimalist workspace in his backyard.

Will's custom capsule bed, inspired by The Public hotel in NYC, creates a cozy sleeping nook wrapped in warm plywood that feels both modern and surf-shack casual.

The architects added a cork wall behind the bed for a layer of warmth within the space.

For the floor, the architects chose black slate from the province of San Luis, a material that was popular in 1950s Argentine weekend houses.

Architects Ezequiel Adelmo Manasseri and María Sol Depetris created a modest retreat for Emilia Porfiri, a professional translator, in the Santa Fe province of Argentina. The home’s mint-green exterior carries into the kitchen, where a stainless-steel table, also by the architects, is flanked by a pair of vintage Thonet chairs.

The bedroom is given some privacy from the kitchen and dining area, and the bench can also be slept on.

Cooper and crew make themselves at home in Neutra’s 1932 midcentury classic.

The interior incorporates low toxicity finishes and natural materials like timber and textural oriented strand board.

The dining area can be transitioned into a Murphy bed at night.

The homes are available in North America, and can be assembled within three to four months of placing an order.

Upstairs, the space is made cozy and comfortable using dark tones and cedar panels on the wall and ceiling. “Initially, we looked at adding a floor to our house. We didn’t start out by saying, ‘Let’s build a tower in our yard.’ But it’s perfect,” says Jess.

Along with a Dunbar sofa covered in Romo fabric, occasional seating includes a sheepskin Finn Juhl Pelican chair and a vintage wire chair. A BDDW coffee table sits atop a vintage rug. The artwork is by William Steiger.
