Amazing Five-Story Staircase Twists Through a Narrow London Home

In London's Fitzrovia district, FORMstudio uses a sculptural staircase as a solution for a home's unusual layout.

Formerly an office building with a dark basement, the structure—reminiscent of the Flatiron building in New York—was...
FORMstudio designed an acrylic balustrade that winds up the 1,647-square-foot home's five levels.
The staircase is about 46 feet tall from top to bottom.
A glass roof at the top of the stairwell also helps light filter through the interiors.
Due to the narrowness of the property, each floor only contains one room, lending the house a certain coziness.
