The custom microcement color used in the bathroom—which was inspired by the red of Marrakech in Morocco—took countless samples to perfect. “It's a deep, earthy red, and none of the standard colors could achieve it,” says Benjamin.

The bathroom can now accommodate a wheelchair if needed. The floor is slightly slanted so that any water that splashes will flow to the drain.

Colin and Rebecca chose a graphic patterned floor tile from Floor Studio for the upstairs bathroom. The Pastille Wayfind sconces are by RBW.

The couple added curved cabinetry and a window seat to form a breakfast nook, painted in Farrow & Ball Red Earth. The table is discontinued from Anthropologie, where Kara previously worked as a display coordinator, and the overhead light is the Lambert & Fils Waldorf Double.

Tile by Zia Tile runs along a wall of the upstairs bathroom. The cabinets are by Cabinets quick, and the floor tile is by Concrete Collaborative.

The home is defined by its breathtaking views over the surrounding mountains, and this was a major driver of the design—even in the bathrooms, which feature carefully considered picture windows. “Maximizing the panoramic mountain views and harmoniously integrating them into the interior spaces was a key priority,” says the designer.

Texture is at play everywhere, from a bathroom’s pebble-wash terrazzo floors that wrap up walls to the lush landscaping outside.

It was important to Thomas that the property could be shared with friends and family, and there are enough bedrooms to comfortably sleep up to 12 guests.
