INDUSTRIAL MODERN
A three-car, corrugated metal garage was removed and replaced with a new, one-bedroom apartment over the garage, including a roof deck servicing the adjacent owner’s flat. We inserted a modern building with a slight industrial edge to recall the former garage, while maintaining a residential feel. Sheet metal clad doors provide a graffiti resistant surface while also fitting the limited budget. Thermoclear adds luminosity to the façade, and the natural cedar brings warmth to this simple modern structure. The kitchen image shown was featured in Dwell Magazine.
