TS1 is a minimal, modular shelving system by Utrecht-based designer Andrius Sta, which relies on threaded wooden rods. The threading process uses a CNC router to produce precisely matching connections. Making both glue and metal fixtures unnecessary. The shelves are held firmly, using the mechanism of a bolted joint. The piece ships in a flat packed box and can be easily assembled by hand. The modular nature of this design offers a possibility for the basic arrangement to expand in height, length and composition. Photo 1 of 292 in Furniture by Leibal
