A Striking Slovakian Apartment Building

Nice Architects' approximations of the angles at which winter and summer light would enter North Star Rising guided them in their construction of the unique window casings found across the building's facade. While they maximize light, these enclosed balconies also sheltering occupants from the sounds and sights of a local road.

While the whole building overlooks a school garden, from this resident's window, the new overlooks the old. The distant spire of a local church finds its optimal frame in the modernist design of North Star Rising.

White paint complements the chic angles of North Star Rising's exterior. In a tribute to its architectural design, North Star Rising's nine spacious one bedroom apartments were filled before its completion was announced on February 17, 2014.

With nearly twenty percent of the 3,370 square foot lot left for landscaping, North Star Rising offers residents sheltered indoor and outdoor spaces. The first of the building's four floors is devoted to commercial spaces, which link the building and its residents with the surrounding community.
