Located on a quiet cul-de-sac in the Granada Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, the Sakaguchi residence was completed in 1969 by noted Japanese-American architect Kazumi Adachi.

Adachi, who was born and raised in the United States and attended the University of Southern California School of Architecture, was known for his work throughout Los Angeles in the 1950s and 60s, when he designed a number of residences, schools, and commercial projects.
