Aaron and Yuka Ruell tasked Portland, Oregon-based firm Jessica Helgerson Interior Design with remodeling their family residence, which was originally designed by local architect William Fletcher in 1959. "It was about taking cues from midcentury design, but also bringing in modern pieces that fit," says designer and project manager Emily Knudsen Leland.
