The original Brest post office was an Art Deco building that opened in 1927. After the Battle for Brest during World War II left much of the city destroyed, the post office was rebuilt in 1947 in a neo-Breton style by architect Pierre-Jack Laloy. It has been given a new life by Paris firm Chatillon Architectes and turned into senior housing.
