Iceland’s Ion Adventure Hotel opened in 2013 after a two-year renovation by Minarc that included the addition of a new wing. A glass, steel, and concrete slab juts out from the base of Mount Hengill, an active volcano, over a mossy green lava field in the geothermal area of Nesjavellir.
