To build a truly great community you need to listen and you need to innovate. Every two weeks we release new updates that you and the rest of the Dwell Community helped shape - by using features and leaving us feedback. Here's the latest updates to the site.

What’s New on Web

Comments in stories and collections

We're excited about this one. We've added our commenting system to both Stories and Collections. Simply click the comment icon to expand the comment drawer to join the conversation.

Also:

  • A notification is sent to the owner of the story, collection or photo when you leave a comment.
  • And don't forget you can @ mention other Dwell users, and they'll get a notification when you do.

Private Comments

You might notice there is a "Private" tab in the new comments drawer.  We're not ready to make private comments available yet, but we're working on them.

Social Sharing on Web

Users will now be able to share content via Facebook, Twitter, and Email. You can find these new options in the same place you click to Recommend.

Use the arrow to share any photo, story or collection on Facebook, Twitter or Email.  You can share to who ever follows you on Dwell by clicking "Recommend".

Quick Collection Creation

In addition to the Create button, you will now see "ghosted" collection cards on your profile. Hovering over these cards will reveal a "Start a Collection" prompt. Users will also see a new "+" button on the top right of their profile, beneath their profile name. With these new additions, getting users engaged with the new Dwell platform with collections will be much more intuitive.

You can now start a collection from your profile page.  Just hover over the dashed box to get started.  You can collect photos for inspiration.  Or you can upload your own photos to collections.
