When David Fairchild introduced the avocado to America, he had no idea how much of an impact the "alligator pear" would have on the American palate for decades to come. Found in everything from guacamole to toast to salad dressing, this good fat is a favorite amongst young and old alike, and can be found on almost every menu and in every kitchen. (For more information on Fairchild’s work as a globetrotting food explorer, I highly recommend this engrossing biography).
In celebration of this kooky holiday, we bring you some avocado-themed home decor, clothing, and other accessories that honor the "it" fruit of our times.
