If you’ve ever dreamed of living large like 12-time Grammy Award–winner John Legend and his partner, model and television personality Chrissy Teigen, now’s your chance—but it will come at a steep price. The Hollywood power couple are looking to part ways with their multilevel residence in Beverly Hills, California, after moving their famous family of four to a slightly larger home in 2020.

The 8,520-square-foot residence is tucked away on a large hillside lot just minutes from Rodeo Drive and the Beverly Hills Hotel. A gated entrance ensures ample privacy for residents at the remodeled Los Angeles estate, which was originally built in 1966.

John and Chrissy acquired the contemporary estate—which was formerly owned by singer-and-businesswoman Rihanna—in 2016 for $14,100,000. After revamping much of the interiors, the duo initially listed the property last fall for $23,950,000. However, the couple recently reduced their asking price by several million, and are now seeking $17,950,000 for the 8,520-square-foot home.

The entrance parlor features 33-foot ceilings and a curving staircase that leads to the second floor. An upper-level catwalk overlooks the primary gathering room, which houses the Grammy Award–winner’s grand piano.

Upon arrival, a lavish foyer leads to a grand parlor with 33-foot-tall ceilings and a sculptural staircase. An open-plan layout merges the entryway with the main level’s primary living room, where floor-to-ceiling windows capture picturesque views of the surrounding canyons.

A statement pendant hangs gracefully above the plush seating in the great room, reflecting the abundance of natural light that pours into the space through the floor-to-ceiling windows.

Another large seating area is situated on the opposite end of a double-sided fireplace in the center of the main room. Just a few steps away, a state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen features a large central island with waterfall-style marble countertops and custom wood cabinetry.

The chef's kitchen—which has served as the backdrop for many of Chrissy's popular cooking videos—includes three ovens, two stovetops, and a large central island with waterfall-style marble countertops.

The formal dining area features oak floors and clay and steel-rolled walls.

While the interiors were previously dressed in an all-white palette, the famous duo collaborated with interior designer Don Stewart to add layers of warmth, using Chrissy’s Southeast Asian heritage as inspiration. Inside the seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom residence, unique decorative touches include bespoke patterned ceilings from Thailand, clay and steel-rolled walls, and oak floors that were given a ceruse treatment (a technique that uses a lime wash to bring out the wood’s grain).

On one end of the double-sided fireplace in the main room, a smaller, more intimate living area features sliding glass doors that lead to the backyard pool.

The principal suite features a glass-enclosed terrace that offers views all the way to downtown Los Angeles.

The principal suite includes a large brass-and-concrete fireplace, a showroom-like walk-in closet, and a bathroom with a black-marble soaking tub and a double shower. The primary bedroom’s private balcony overlooks the lush backyard, which John and Chrissy transformed into a resort-style oasis with a heated saltwater pool and hot tub, as well as a wood-burning oven and a grapevine-wrapped pergola.

The en suite bathroom comes with onyx sinks and a walk-in double shower.

A marble tub by Teuco sits near a large picture window in the principal bathroom.

The Beverly Hills estate, which was originally built in 1966, also includes a cinema, gym, and an Italian-inspired "glam room"— as well as a spacious children’s playroom with a built-in juice bar. The dual closet in the principal suite was inspired by designer showrooms.

A bright hallway leads to the "glam room," which features a private terrace.

The children’s playroom includes a built-in juice bar and offers direct access to the outdoor areas on the ground level.

The home theater includes a popcorn machine and a massive cinema screen.

The remodeled residence includes a fitness center on the lower level.

The backyard includes a heated saltwater pool and hot tub, as well as a shaded pergola that frames eye-catching views of the nearby canyons.

The seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom home spans .86 acres and sits on a private gated drive in Beverly Hills, California.

9152 Janice Place in Beverly Hills, California, is currently listed for $17,950,000 by Marshall Peck of Douglass Elliman, Beverly Hills.
