From the Architect: "This home was adjacent to an old existing building on the plot, a single-story gable home. Starting from this figure as an integration element, the design responds to that specific functional program but seeks its own expressive personality.
"On the expressive level, the humble, simple, and honest tone of the existing building is adopted, expressing itself through codes more typical of a warehouse or industrial building than of a house. Although each one belongs to a different time, they share the same sobriety in their formalization, configured as volumes of closed and solid appearance, avoiding the use of superfluous and unnecessary materials and constructive solutions.
"This pattern is extended to the interior, configuring a single open space where the pieces of equipment define the uses at each point, without the need for interior divisions. This transparency and constructive sincerity is reflected in the interior finishes, where the materials used in the construction of walls, floors, and roof planes are bare and without complexes, seeking the dignity of what is useful and necessary."
