After working as a designer and as the managing editor of Inhabitat, Pilloton founded Project H Design in January 2008 in an effort to "turn criticism into action" by connecting socially minded designers with the communities in need of their creations. In September 2009, she published Design Revolution: 100 Products that Empower People. The Design Revolution Road Show is a traveling exhibition featuring products published in the book.
