After purchasing their first home in the Bel Air neighborhood of Los Angeles, a young newlywed couple were excited, yet overwhelmed, about updating the property. The 3,500-square-foot, four-bedroom home was built in the 1990s, and it was in need of a total remodel.

The couple's first step was to bring Natalie Myers, of Veneer Designs, into the picture to help transform the existing residence into their dream home: a “contemporary expression of minimalist California cool.” With guidance from Myers, the couple were not afraid to experiment with new materials and colors.

Veneer Designs updated the kitchen, den, and all four bathrooms with an array of custom built-ins and colorful on-trend tile selections, giving the home a light and airy sense of space. Reflecting on the experience, Myers said, “It was liberating knowing that this would become their family home for at least 10 years, so they weren't worried about keeping the design neutral for future owners.
