August adds support for Amazon Alexa
This week, August announced integration with Amazon Alexa, meaning you can now lock and unlock your doors with your voice. August is the first smart lock maker to support Alexa-enabled devices like the Amazon Echo.
Amazon enables smart device makers to create "Skills" which you can then install to create added functionality for your Echo. Skills provide all kinds of added functionality from weather and surf reports to integration with smart devices. August is the first company to offer a smart lock skill.
To install, simply browse the Alexa Skill Store, search for "August" and follow the steps to connect your August account to your Amazon account. Once connected, you can lock your doors, or check the status of your lock from any Alexa-enabled device. Magic.
