When Airstream founder Wally Byam first set up shop in Los Angeles in 1931 selling custom-built travel trailers and DIY plans, no one could have predicted how deeply embedded the iconic, “silver bullet” Airstream would become in the American imagination. Today, the brand is angling for a younger generation with releases of more affordable, single-axle trailers like the Bambi and Caravel—and the debut of Airstream Supply Company, a lifestyle brand and e-commerce shop.

Part magazine, part travel guide, and part outfitter, Airstream Supply Company wants to inspire folks to plan their next road trip while offering essentials such as an Airstream-branded harmonica (geared towards the ’Gram), and guides to off-the-beaten-path destinations.

Products in the online store range from parts for your Airstream travel trailer to outdoor gear and campfire essentials, including items designed and crafted by artisans who live and work near the travel destinations featured on the site.

“We’re shining a light on local artisans who embody the same attention to detail and philosophy of craft that we do,” says Wheeler. “It’s about curating the travel and camping experience, sharing inspiring stories, and supporting the work of craftspeople we’ve discovered out on the road.”
