Now considered a classic of modern midcentury design, the PH5 pendant lamp was designed by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen Lighting in 1958 and is still in production today. The fixture was specifically designed to avoid glare by varying the direction of light as well as the size of the shade, making for a compact, colorful, and versatile fixture. This one has a fun moment of surprise on the underside, where there is a small shade directing light upwards that is painted in a dark blue.
