Each home that Wright designed was unique to its circumstances and the Penfield House was no exception. Set on 30 acres in Lake County, Ohio, Wright designed the house in the 1950s with taller ceilings than the other Usonians, and an elongated profile to accommodate his client Louis Penfield—who was 6 feet eight inches tall.
