The Marvin Skycove—a one-of-a-kind suspended window that Leavitt discovered while visiting Marvin’s showroom at 7 Tide in Boston—provides an install-ready window bench option. “That's always been a challenge for us,” Leavitt says of the pop-out window. “It’s always been hard to build, whereas we could buy that whole unit from Marvin.”
The living room got a facelift with a new fireplace and built-in seating and storage that flows into the hearth. The marble fireplace surround is the same stone used in the kitchen, and the bench is white oak.
Now, tall storage cabinets surround a niche with Kappa tile from 41Zero42, this time in a brighter hue, combined with a plainsawn white oak frame and Rosso Verona marble counter.
