Node’s New Co-Living Space Offers Instagram-Worthy Apartments For Rent
Node's new community-focused rental apartment complex is launching in Echo Park at the end of January.
Co-working is not a new concept—just look at how big WeWork has become to see that the community-focused workspace isn’t going anywhere. And now, it seems the home market has caught on with co-living spaces—which are essentially furnished, shared apartment complexes for urban renters. Just take Node: The company already has locations all over the world, including New York and Dublin, and they're launching a new project in Los Angeles this month.
Each apartment has a small outdoor living space, so as to take advantage of the California sunshine.

"We call it curated co-living, and what we try to do is merge high-quality interior design with the community lifestyle that the co-living movement is all about," says founder and CEO Anil Khera. "You can move into an Instagram-ready apartment, and be connected to all the other residents through community events."
Cozy textures like rattan and fur give each apartment complex a homely feel.

The restored bungalow courts, nestled on Sunset Boulevard between Silver Lake and downtown, will offer one-bedroom bungalows and two- to three-bedroom town homes with private patios and communal spaces.

Khera believes that the major thing that sets Node apart from the other co-living spaces is the fact that it’s truly built for young professionals and the accommodations don't feel like dorms—and the new Echo Park location is no exception.

Opening at the end of January, the Echo Park location feels distinctly "California," which was Node's intention from the start. "While no two apartments look exactly the same, we wanted each location to be very locally and architecturally inspired," says Khera. For L.A., specifically, Toronto-based firm Design Agency worked with the original floor plan to create homes that vary in style—from boho to modern.
Every fully-furnished apartment comes equipped with a private patio and a high-spec kitchen with a retro Smeg refrigerator. Hi-speed WiFi, Google Home, air conditioning, an in-unit washer/dryer, and utilities are all included.

"The L.A. property is located on two sets of 1900s bungalow courts, an endangered architectural style that encompasses a series of small, detached bungalow homes," explains Khera. Only 350 bungalow courts are left in Los Angeles, so Node preserved the Echo Park location's original buildings and structures (peep the Douglas fir ceiling beams and hardwood floors) and updated them with modern furniture and high-end appliances.
Prices start at $2,850 and include utilities and furnishings, allowing residents to readily move into an ‘Instagram-worthy’ home. A dedicated Node community curator helps residents settle in.

"In this way, we preserve the history of the buildings while still staying true to our brand," says Khera. "The style pays homage to early L.A. architecture, and will further the unique sense of community amongst residents."
Each bungalow apartment is fully furnished, bright, and airy with pitched ceilings that feature original Douglas fir beams.
