Graypants Nest Pendant
Handcrafted from recycled cardboard, Graypants flagship Scraplights provide warm, intimate, and functional lighting for any occasion or space. Tough and elegant, each is precision cut with a laser and assembled by hand using non-toxic adhesive, and all Scraplights are treated with a non-toxic fire retardant. Scraplights are constructed from natural recycled cardboard precision cut by a laser. This gives the edges their classic dark appearance and enhances the warm light projected through the corrugation. The classic series includes many of the best-selling models such as the Moon and Disc, along with newer designs like the Hive and NestThe Hive and Nest pendants are the only members of the Scraplights collection that feature angled layers. A custom inner ring allows the cord set and bulb to hang straight.

Handmade with layers of recyclable cardboard, the Graypants Ohio Scraplight Pendant finds warmth in the raw material, forming a rustic source of ambient light. Part of the larger range of pendants, the Ohio is held in place with a steel frame, and also includes a sandblasted glass diffuser to shield and further soften the down light below. Founded in 2007 in Seattle, Washington, Graypants is the creative brainchild of architects Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker. Known for their acclaimed first line of pendant lights made entirely of repurposed cardboard, Graypants has matured into an industrial and product design studio with a diverse portfolio of lighting focused on responsible production. Each pendant is characterized by this philosophy of local and sustainable production, and the company has even branched out to the European market stationed in Amsterdam. Inspired by tried and true handcrafting techniques, the Kerflights series is precision built to accommodate any situation. Durable powder-coated steel wire frames provide a distinct shape and character for each lamp. The shades are crafted from FSC-certified high quality plywood with a unique kerf pattern cut into the panels allowing for intriguing patterns to be cast onto walls and table surfaces. The magic in the Kerflights series lies within the flexibility of the design. The shade panels are swappable and reversible, allowing for future possibilities over their long lives.
